Meghan Graydon Darby is a Multidisciplinary Maker from County Durham, recent graduate from Manchester School of Art, current studio holder at TESTT Space Durham. Winner of the annual graduate prize from Manchester Craft and Design Centre.
Her most recent work is based on experimenting and exploring the process of drawing digitally. Working digitally allows her to drag and drop her drawn shapes, working intuitively until the composition feels right, playing with colour, shape and form. Meghan’s process is a digital collage, creating non representational imagery that she then assembles to create a larger image. Often her practice uses varied materials such as textiles and wood, taking elements from her surroundings as inspiration. In past projects, her motivation has stemmed from her identity, creating work which refers to the town where she originates from. For Spaghetto Factory however, the work which has been created reverts back to The Yellow Wall, each element of all 5 drawings constructed to sit comfortably upon the wall.
